Mauro Zuliani

Mauro Zuliani ( born July 23, 1959 in Milan ) is an Italian former athlete who with the 4 x 400 - meter relay team won an Olympic bronze medal in 1980.

1979 Zuliani won the Italian championship in the 100 -meter run. The following year he competed in the Olympic Games in Moscow in the 400 -meter run. While the other two Italians Stefano Malinverni and Roberto Tozzi were eliminated in the quarterfinals, Zuliani reached the semifinals. In the table Malinverni, Zuliani, Tozzi and final runner Pietro Mennea the Italian season ran in the final in 3:04,3 min to third place behind the squadrons from the Soviet Union and the GDR.

In 1981, Zuliano his first Italian championship title over 400 meters, and two more to follow in 1982 and 1986. At the Athletics World Cup in Rome turned Zuliani in September 1981 his personal best of 45.26 s and finished second behind the Americans Cliff Wiley. At the European Championships in 1982 in Athens Zuliani just missed the finals in ninth. The Italian Season with Mennea, Tozzi, Roberto Zuliani Ribaud and finished in the final in 3:03,21 minutes sixth place. The following year, Stefano Malinverni, Donato Sabia, Mauro Zuliani and Roberto Ribaud reached in 3:05,10 minutes to fifth place at the World Championships in Helsinki.

At the European Championships in 1986 in Stuttgart Zuliani difference in individual competition already out in the flow. The Season with Giovanni Borgioni, Mauro Zuliani, Vito Roberto Petrella and Ribaud ran in 3:01,37 minutes an Italian record, but missed out on a medal Fourth anyway. In the following winter season Zuliani reached the sixth place at the European Indoor Championships 1987 in Liévin its only Final placement in an individual event at a continental championship.

At a height of 1.75 m his competition weight was 62 kg. He started for the club Fiamme Oro from Padua.
