Maury County is a county located in the state of Tennessee in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Columbia.

Geography

The County is located just southwest of the geographic center of Tennessee and has an area of ​​1594 square kilometers, of which 7 square kilometers is water area. History

Maury County was formed on November 16, 1807 from parts of Williamson County. It was named after Abram Poindexter Maury, a graduate of the Military Academy at West Point and politician from Tennessee.
