Mauschbach

Mauschbach is a municipality in the southwest, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Zweibrücken -Land.

Geography

The place is located in the south of the county on the border with France. West is Hornbach, in the east Dietrichingen.

History

Mauschbach was first mentioned in 1277. By the end of the 18th century the village belonged to the Duchy of Pfalz- Zweibrücken.

After 1792 French revolutionary troops occupied the region and annexed after the peace of Campo Formio (1797 ). From 1798 to 1814 the village belonged to the French department of Thunder Mountain and was assigned to the Canton Neuhornbach. Taken in response to the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) Agreements and a barter agreement with Austria the region came in 1816 with the Kingdom of Bavaria. As of 1818, the municipality Mauschbach was the country 's Commissariat Two bridges in the Bavarian Rhine Kreis, assigned to the district office Zweibrücken later, from 1938, the district Zweibrücken emerged. Since 1972 Mauschbach belongs to the then newly formed community association Zweibrücken -Land, and since 1997 the district of Southwest Palatinate.
