Background

Mauvaise graine ( in German: The Bad Seed ) is the first film in which Billy Wilder directed it. Previously, he wrote in Germany the screenplays of several successful films, such as people on Sunday and Emil and the Detectives. After he was forced to emigrate after the seizure of power by the National Socialists from Berlin, he fled to Paris, where Mauvaise Graine was born. In his memoirs, Wilder describes with what modest means, the film had to be completed, but also with how much enthusiasm the participants participated in the creation of the work.
