Max (German magazine)

Max was the name of a magazine published in Hamburg in possession of the MAX Verlag GmbH & Co. KG, which is part of the publishing group Milky Way. This in turn is 100 % owned by the Hubert Burda Media since 2004.

Max was launched in 1991 and was published monthly; the last time with a double issue for the months of January / February 2008. terms of content, Max defined as a photo, pop culture and lifestyle magazine.

The print run was continuously declining according to the IVW. Were printed in the third quarter of 2005 yet 250 393 copies, so it was in the fourth quarter, only 220 333. Specifically, the number of subscribers declined to 13,534 in the same period by 19,958. On 11th January 2008 Hubert Burda Media was the setting of the magazine known. However, the brand name MAX should be preserved, as for the publication of city guides.

In 2011, the publishing house brought out a single issue ( One Shot ) of the print magazine. The editorial team consisted partly of editorial members of the old magazine. 2012 appeared another single issue ( " 55 reasons to see life is good right now " ), which was created by the storyboard GmbH in Munich.

The online side of the magazine, however, continues to exist. From autumn 2011 to spring 2012, the contents of students of the German School of Journalism were delivered in Munich. From Spring 2012 to Winter 2012 wrote MAX.de with a one-man editorial on topics in the area of pop culture. As of winter 2012, the site has been more integrated into the offer of Tomorrow Focus Media GmbH and was based on change of editors more on lifestyle topics. Since March 2013 run on the side only automatically imported dpa messages from the fields of pop culture and lifestyle.
