Maxdata

Maxdata ( MAXDATA ) was one of Europe's largest IT producer. The times listed in Germany company was founded in 1987 by Holger Lampatz and had the end of 2007, approximately 1,000 employees, including about 450 at its headquarters in Marlborough. Second largest site was the work Wuerselen, which trades as MANULOGS Manufacturing and Logistic Services GmbH since 2007. In June 2008 and in November 2010, the company filed for bankruptcy. The name Maxdata persists as a trademark of S & T.

Products

The product range included, inter alia, notebooks, monitors, PCs and servers. Maxdata addressed with its products exclusively dealer ( indirect sales model ). To that extent, the product and service offering focused exclusively on the needs of commercial clientele.

Maxdata was present in the market with two independent brands: Maxdata for Server, Mobile, and PC products and Belinea for the display and monitor sector as well as the notebook and home sector.

History

The company was founded in 1987 as Maxdata Computer GmbH and took 1990, the production of personal computers. 1992 notebooks were added to the product range.

In 1999 the company bought the production of Vobis. Metro AG sold its shares in Maxdata and it was the restructuring to Maxdata AG. In 2003, the Maxdata shares were admitted to the Prime Standard. By restructuring the number of employees was reduced to 900 in 2006. On June 25, 2008, the company to file for bankruptcy due to impending insolvency. The local court in Essen had a lawyer Winfried Andres appointed as liquidator. In November 2008, he has the brand Maxdata to Quanmax Inc., a specialist in embedded computing, based in Taiwan, were sold. Under the brand name Maxdata today specialized products for the B2B market are sold. The monitor Belinea brand was taken over by the Brunen IT Group.

Special case Maxdata Switzerland

The resident as Maxdata Computer AG in Switzerland and then 100 percent subsidiary of Maxdata AG, Germany was insolvent at any time. With the closure of the delivery mechanism Wuerselen the end of 2008 had to be found a new partner. End of 2008, took over the majority of shares Brunen IT. The company was renamed Belinea AG and repositioned itself with the PC and notebook brand Belinea on the Swiss market. All Altgarantien from Maxdata era were completely taken over by the Belinea AG in Switzerland - in contrast to all other national companies. Quanmax took over in November 2010, the equity stake of Brunen IT and the company was renamed Maxdata ( Switzerland ) AG. A minority of shares remained with the management. Since then, the store brand Maxdata in Linz ( Austria ) is produced by Quanmax and distributed in Switzerland to the trade.
