Maxim Turov

Maxim Turov, (Russian Максим Туров, born December 7, 1979 in Gukowo ) is a Russian chess master.

Turow first visited a chess club in Gukowo, when he was five years old. He studied at the Rostov Institute of Automation and Engineering Technology. He now lives in Arkhangelsk and is married to Irina Turowa, born Slawina ( WGM and IM, Elo 2428 (March 2011) ).

Turow won or occupied top positions in many tournaments: 1st place in First Saturday GM Tournament Budapest ( November 1996), 2nd place at the First Saturday GM Tournament Budapest ( August 1997), 3rd place in the Russian U-20 Youth Championship in Sochi (1998), 1st place in the COQ Open in Quebec City (2001 ), 1st place at the 28th Elekes Memorial in Budapest ( 2003), 2nd place at the First Saturday GM Tournament Budapest ( December 2005), 1st place in the Open in Dieren (2005 and 2011 ), 2nd place at the First Saturday GM Tournament Budapest ( June 2003), 1st place in the Open Polar Circle in Salechard (2008), 1st place in the BDO -A Tournament in Haarlem (2008 ) and 1 he won. place at the 2nd Open in Chennai, 2010. in January 2012, the C- group of the Tata Steel Chess tournament with 10.5 points from 13 games.

Turow carries since 1996 the title of International Master, he was awarded the Grandmaster title in 1999. Turow occupies the 22nd place of the Russian Elo ranking (as of May 2012).

In the Austrian Bundesliga he played in the 2010/11 season for the SK Advisory Invest Baden.
