Maxime Bossis

Maxime Bossis ( born June 25, 1955 in Saint -André- Treize- Voies in the Vendée ) is a retired French footballer.

Club career

The angular central defender Maxime Bossis played from 1973 to 1985 for FC Nantes, with whom he was national champion three times (1977, 1980 and 1983) and also won the 1979 Coupe de France. He was also a French international.

In 1985 the also multi-awarded as the best footballer in the country players to Racing Paris in the Division 2, returned with this but after only one year in the top flight and remained there until 1989. In the 1990/91 season laced Maxime Bossis than 35 years again for the FC Nantes his football boots, played 34 league games, scoring two goals, before he ended his career after more than 500 Erstligaeinsätzen final.

The National Players

Between March 1976 and June 1986 denied Maxime Bossis 76 caps for France (64 Nantes, Paris 12 ), scoring a goal. Under coach Michel Hidalgo, he was a regular in the French rearguard and took the first time in an international tournament in the World Cup 1978 in Argentina part. With the Football World Cup 1982 in Spain, he came to the semifinals and had in the game against Germany the saddest moment in his football career: the penalty shootout, he failed in the German goalkeeper Harald Schumacher. When Horst Hrubesch met as the next penalty taker, his team was eliminated from the tournament. In the European Football Championship in 1984 he finally succeeded with France then a title. Also at the Football World Cup 1986 in Mexico he took any part; there divorced his team, however, again in the semi-final against Germany.

From 1985 to 1992 Bossi was a French capped player before he was overtaken by Manuel Amoros.

Life after the player time

Bossi was a few months sporting director at AS Saint- Étienne and was able to market his image as an advertising medium for the French post office. In the 21st century, followed consultancy work for the telecommunications company Canal and Orange.
