Maxime Vachier-Lagrave

Maxime Vachier -Lagrave ( born October 21, 1990 in Nogent -sur -Marne ) is a French chess grandmaster.

Vachier -Lagrave won the Grandmaster title at the age of 14 years and four months. He succeeded in attaining numerous high rankings in international tournaments, among his greatest achievements include Tournament Win in Paris 2004 ( Int. city championship and the NAO International), Lausanne 2006 ( Final victory over Wang Yue ), Paks 2008 (before Alexander Beliavsky ), Paris 2008 ( shared with Alberto David ) and Biel 2009 (before Vasyl Ivanchuk and Alexander Morozevich ). In the same year Vachier -Lagrave Junior World Champion in Puerto Madryn. In 2010 he won the crown group of the 14th Univé Schaaktoernooi in Hoogeveen. He was also in Warsaw, European champion in blitz chess, after he had occupied 9th place in the previously staged in Moscow Blitz Chess Championship. 2013 he won for the second time in Biel Chess Festival, where he was able to prevail in the tie-break against Etienne Bacrot, Ding Liren and Alexander Moiseenko.

Vachier -Lagrave took first time in 2004 to the championship of France, where he became the youngest player scored 4.5 out of eleven points. In 2007 he played in the French selection at the European Team Championships in Heraklion with the result: ( 3, = 4, -1). Since the 2007/2008 season he played for SV Mülheim- Nord in the Chess League.
