Maximilian Arndt

Maximilian Arndt ( born July 23, 1987 in Suhl ) is a German Bobsportler. His biggest success was the victory in the four-man bobsleigh World Cup 2013.

Career

The police chief candidate Maximilian Arndt from BSR Rennsteig Oberhof began in 2003 with the Bobs. The team consists of his brakeman René Tiefert, Cliff Denner, Florian Kunze and Fabian Gneupel. At the Junior World Championships 2007 he won the title in the two- and large slide the silver medal. In 2008 he was able to repeat the silver medal in the four-man, but missed in the small carriage in fourth place just another medal. National, he won the junior title in 2006 and 2007 and two in 2007 behind Oliver harrass second in four.

In December 2006, Arndt was with Lucas Kuske as brakeman his debut in the European Cup and Bob was in Koenigssee 12 In January he reached in Winterberg with brakeman Jens Nohka with a fifth digit first placement. In December 2008 he won with brakeman Denner in Altenberg for the second time a European Cup races. 2010 Arndt was junior world champion in the two- and reached the third place in the quad. During his World Cup debut in November 2010 on the difficult track in Whistler, he managed in the two-man bob with brakeman Martin plasters a good fifth place and drove two days later in four to second place behind Olympic champion Steven Holcomb. His successful Bob pushed to René Tiefert, Martin plasters and Alexander Roediger. In the following race in Calgary and Lake Placid, he reached two other podium finishes in the four-man event. At the Junior World Championships 2011, he won the title in four and finished in a two second place.

In winter 2011/12 Maximilian Arndt won his first World Cup race in Altenberg Bobsled on 8 January 2012. Two weeks later he won in St. Moritz with two Bobs. In the overall World Cup, he finished each ranked second and also won the combination classification. When Bob World Cup 2012 in Lake Placid, he won with brakeman Kevin Kuske the bronze medal in two-man, with brakeman Steven Deja the silver medal with the German team as well as with the Anschiebern Alexander Roediger, Kevin Kuske and Martin renders the silver medal in four-man bobsleigh. A year later he won at the World Championships in St. Moritz in the four-man event with his crew the title. 2012 and 2013, Arndt was also European champion in four-man bobsleigh.

Arndt is a member of the sports promotion group of the Thuringian police.
