Maximilian Ziegelbauer

Max Ziegelbauer ( born September 6, 1923 in Memmingen ) is a German theologian, retired since September 7, 1998 Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Augsburg and honorary citizen of the city of Memmingen.

Life

After his theological studies at the Philosophical - Theological College Dillingen he was ordained a priest on 21 May 1950. After his first job as a chaplain in the parish of St. Moritz Augsburger he was in 1952 for four years secretary of Bishop Joseph Freundorfer. From 1956 on, he was for many years pastor of the parish of the Assumption in Memmingen. On 1 October 1965 he got a job as Dompfarrvikar in Augsburg and was appointed to the Cathedral Chapter three years later. Since 1973 he is a member of K.B.St.V. Rhaetia Munich. On 2 August 1983 he was appointed titular bishop of Lapda and auxiliary bishop in Augsburg. He received his episcopal consecration Archbishop Josef Stimpfle on 22 October of the same year. Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Regensburg, Manfred Müller, and Auxiliary Bishop Rudolf Schmid. Its motto is a bishop: Fundata supra Petram ( " founded on rock "). From 1984 to 1998 he was the Episcopal Vicar for the area of ​​church and culture. On September 11, 1988 consecrated Bishop Max Ziegelbauer six new bronze bells, which replaced the old bells of St. Joseph in Memmingen.

Statements on the Liturgy
