Maximinus of Aix

Maximinus of Aix (also: Maximus ) was the legendary according to tradition, the first bishop of Aix.

He is said to have arrived in the company of Mary Magdalene from Palestine to Gaul and worked in Aix en Provence as the first bishop and built the first church at the site of the present cathedral Saint- Sauveur. His death is dated to the year 45, but they would, unless Maximinus was ever a historical personality to act subsequent early dating.
