Maya Gabeira

Maya Gabeira ( born April 10, 1987 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian professional surfer. It is one of the best big-wave surfers around the world.

Biography

2009 won Gabeira, which began to surf until the age of 14, the ESPY Award in the category " Best Female Action Sports Athlete ". Maya Gabeira also won five times in a row, the Billabong XXL Award in the category "Girls Best Overall Performance". In the same year they defeated in dungeons, South Africa, a 45 feet high, the highest ever surfed by a woman wave. Maya Gabeiras father is Fernando Gabeira, a founding member of the Brazilian Green Party Partido Verde and former member of a guerrilla group. From 2010 to 2013, the Brazilian had a relationship with Australian actor Jesse Spencer. 2013 would be Maya Gabeira the fall in a giant wave off the Portuguese coast nearly drowned.
