Mayan Astronomers

The Mayan Astronomers are a semi-professional ice hockey Mexican club from Mexico City, which was founded in 2010 and plays in the Liga Mexicana Élite.

History

The Mayan Astronomers took the 2010/11 season as a founding member of the match operation in the inaugural Liga Mexicana Élite. In its premiere season the team won first place in the main round. Therefore, the team was directly qualified for the play-off final, where they defeated the Teotihuacan Priests in the best- of-three series with 1:2 victories.

The team name and club logo are inspired by the astronomers of the Maya.
