Maybank

Maybank ( Malayan Banking Berhad abbreviation of ) is the largest bank and financial institution in Malaysia. The company is listed on the Malaysia Stock Exchange in the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI.

The bank was established by the Malaysian banker and hotel owner Khoo Teck Puat. The Maybank has a market value of 14 billion dollars ( 2009). It is equipped with 374 domestic and 90 international branches and offices, the second largest listed company on the Malaysian Stock Exchange. In addition to the Maybank Malaysia especially in Singapore, Brunei and the Philippines operates.

The subsidiary Takaful has worked in the insurance industry and in the Islamic banking system.
