Mayfair Studios

The Mayfair Studios was a recording studio in Primrose Hill, London, England. Originally the studios were established in the 1960s in London's Mayfair, after which they are named. Many well-known artists and musicians such as Tina Turner, The Clash, Pink Floyd, The Bee Gees, Nigel Kennedy and Kroke, The Smiths and used in the past studios recording their music.

History

Before 1975, the recording studios belonged to Ryemuse Ltd.. and were called Spot studios. They were in the 64 South Molton Street in Mayfair above the local drugstore. John Hudson was there employed as a technical manager. This was formerly employed by the BBC, where he was responsible for the broadcast of live performances for TV programs such as Jimi Hendrix Color Me Pop or Match of the Day.
