The Paute Mazar Dam is a dam in Western Ecuador, Cañar Province, the river Paute (Río Paute ) near the mouth of the Mazar. It was built for hydroelectric power production and has a power plant from 190 MW of installed capacity. The concession of 50 years was transferred in 2003 to the Compania de Generacion de Hidropaute Hidroelectrica SA.

The CFR dam is 165 m high, 310 m long, has a bulk volume of 6.6 million cubic meters and was built above the existing 1200 MW power plant Amaluza ( Paute Molino ). The dam also to keep sediment out of the reservoir and Amaluza to supply the Amaluza power plant evenly with water serves. Construction began in 2004, in 2010 followed by the opening.
