Mazarine Pingeot

Mazarine Marie Pingeot ( born December 18, 1974 in Avignon, Vaucluse ) is a French journalist and writer. She is the illegitimate daughter of former French president François Mitterrand with Anne Pingeot, his longtime girlfriend.

Life

Mazarine Pingeots existence was one of the best kept secrets of state of France. François Mitterrand recognized his illegitimate daughter officially only in 1984. He lived by his wife Danielle separated and was anxious in the highest degree, to conceal his relationship with his " second wife " and illegitimate daughter. He took care of his daughter and visited them often. However, these visits often resembled cloak-and- dagger operations, where even the French intelligence provided assistance.

Just two years before the death of the French president in 1996 Mitterrand's paternity and their partially bizarre circumstances were known to the public. There are a few photos taken with the then small daughter show Mitterrand in her arms.

On July 16, 2005 reported the newspaper " France Soir " that Mazarine Pingeot has a son who has received the name of Ascot.
