Mazda6

The Mazda6 is a car model of the middle class of the Japanese carmaker Mazda and was first at the 35th Tokyo Motor Show ( October 27 to November 7 2001) presents. In Japan, the model is referred to as Atenza. This naming is derived from the Italian word " attenzione ". It was the first model that has been associated with the Mazda advertising slogan " Zoom-Zoom " in conjunction. At the launch in Japan on 20 May 2002, the model reached 4000 orders within six days.

The default internal name of the first Mazda6 is GG for the four-door notchback sedan and five-door hatchback ( " Sports ") and GY for the combination ( " sport wagon " ) and thus follows in the letters of the previous model Mazda 626/Capella ( GF / GW).

For Europe, Japan, Australia and parts of Asia for the Mazda6 is produced in Japanese factories in Hiroshima and Hōfu. In February 2002 the first Mazda6 for Europe rolled into Hōfu from the tape.

In 2003, the Mazda6 won the second place as car of the year (behind the Renault Mégane ) and had already reached the world by November 2002 23 awards in 16 countries.

Facelift

In June 2005, the series received ( now type GG1 and GY1 ) a facelift, which can be seen with a new front apron with silver trim, slightly modified grille and a subtle change to the rear bumper. The successor to the internal abbreviation GH follows the design of the new line of the second generation Mazda2 and grew in size only slightly. The official presentation took place in September 2007 at the IAA in Frankfurt.

At launch in February 2008, Mazda introduced first before the notchback and hatchback variant, the combination came in April 2008 at the dealership. Facelift

In spring 2010, the Mazda6 received a subtle facelift. A new two-liter petrol engine was introduced, which leads to lower fuel consumption and also the emission standard Euro 5. Visually, among other things, headlights, grille and bumper have been modified at the front and rear.

The third generation of the Mazda6 celebrated at the Moscow Motor Show in August 2012 as a saloon its world premiere. It is named after the CX- 5, the second model wearing Mazda Kodo new design line.

The market launch in Germany on 2 February 2013. Coinciding with the saloon appeared the wagon, but shorter than this fails. The engines of the third Mazda6 are aggregates of the new Skyactiv technology from Mazda. It come with two petrol engines and 2.5 liter (146, 165 and 192 hp ) engine capacity and a 2.2 - liter diesel engine in two power levels (150 and 175 hp).
