Mbarek Bekkay

Mubarek ( M'barek ) Bekkai Arab مبارك البكاي (* 1907 in Berkane, Oujda province, Morocco, † April 12, 1961 in Rabat ) was a Moroccan politician and from 1955 to 1958 the first Prime Minister of Morocco.

Life

Bekkai was after the abdication of Sultan Muhammad VI. ibn Arafah on October 15, 1955 Member of the throne council, the next it still belonged to Mohamed El Mokri, Tahar Ouassou Loudyi and Mohamed Sbihi. The Thronrat officiated until the re-establishment of Sultan Mohammed V on 6 November 1955.

A month later he was appointed Mohammed V. on December 7, 1955 the first Prime Minister of Morocco. Served in this office Bekkai to 12 May 1958, and was replaced by the former Foreign Minister Ahmed Balafrej.
