Mbulu District

Mbulu ( Iraqw Imboru, formerly German New Trier) is the capital of the eponymous district in Manyara region in Tanzania. It is the seat of the Diocese of Mbulu.

The living in the region ethnic group of the Iraqw, for their area Mbulu is the administrative and economic center, is called in Swahili also Mbulu or Wambulu. In the German colonial era, however, this term was used by some researchers for the Datooga who lived at the beginning of colonization in the vicinity.
