MC Miker G & DJ Sven

M. C. Miker 'G ' & Deejay Sven were a hip hop duo from the Netherlands. The duo consisted of Lucien Witteveen (MC Miker ' G') and Sven van Veen ( Deejay Sven ). Mid-1980s, the two landed with a Rapversion of Madonna's hit Holiday an international success.

Witteveen and Van Veen met in 1986 in a discotheque in Hilversum know. Here the idea for a cover version of Madonna hits originated. The Single Holiday Rap became an international success. In Germany, the song held in August and September, five weeks at the top of the charts. With the follow-up single Celebration Rap, a rap version of Celebration by Kool & the Gang, the two could not repeat this success, achieved in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but at least the top 40th

In 1987 the two began a large-scale European tour. While DJ Sven then continued to work as a disc jockey, MC was Miker 'G' to New York to record a solo album. With the single Nights Over New York, he reached the charts, at least in his home. The following year, the duo recorded a hip-hop version of the Dutch classic Kom van dat dak af together with Peter Koelewijn. This song has sold successfully in the Netherlands.

Then the paths of the two led apart. DJ Sven worked as a radio DJ at Veronica and BNN. M. C. Miker 'G' remained active in the music business, but without notable success.
