McComb is a city in the U.S. state of Mississippi and is located in Pike County. The district capital ( County Seat) Magnolia is located south of McComb. The city has 13,337 inhabitants ( 2000).

McComb was founded in 1872 and named after Colonel Henry Simpson McComb. During the 1960s, McComb was the scene of race riots and racially motivated bombings against African Americans. On 20 October 1977 charter plane crashed near McCombs. It died members of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd: Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, his sister Cassie and manager Dean Kilpatrick.
