The McDonald County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. In 2010, the County had 23,083 inhabitants and a population density of 16.5 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Pineville.
The McDonald County is part of the metropolitan area Fayetteville - Springdale - Rogers in Missouri and Arkansas.
Geography
The County is located in the extreme southwest of Missouri in the Ozarks, on the south by Arkansas and on the west by Oklahoma. It has an area of 1398 square kilometers without significant water surface. At the McDonald County borders the following Nachbarcountys:
History

The McDonald County was formed in 1849 on a former part of Newton County. It was named after Alexander McDonald, an officer in the Revolutionary War.
