McGuinness Flint

After the dissolution of the band Manfred Mann in 1969, Tom McGuinness formed with Hughie Flint, formerly with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, the singer Dennis Coulson and the two musicians Benny Gallagher and Graham Lyle, the band McGuinness Flint.

1970 and 1971 originated with When I'm Dead And Gone and Malt And Barley Blues two international bestsellers, both of which were written by Gallagher and Lyle. Then they both left the band, it was Dixie Dean.

As a quartet, the group the LP " C'est La Vie " took on in 1974 and interpreted exclusively songs of Bob Dylan.

As early as 1973 had singers Coulsen the LP Dennis Coulsen published, contributed to the Gallagher and Lyle five songs. The two were now a duo that successfully wrote songs for others but also for themselves. Gallagher & Lyle I Wanna Stay With You by Heart On My Sleeve and 1976 each had a top 10 hit in the UK.

McGuinness and Flint founded in 1979 with Paul Jones, Dave Kelly and Gary Fletcher Blues Band, which even today - but now without Flint - is still active.
