The McNab is not recognized by the FCI breed of dog in the United States.

Origin and History

The farmer McNab bred the dog named after him, the end of the 19th century in California. The ancestors of these dogs are Scottish herding dogs. The dog could be kept for a short-haired Border Collie, but the hats style is quite different: upright posture, aggressive, energetic compared to the sheep, the Border Typical " eying ", ie the fixing, does not occur. Description

The McNab is a medium sized dog, light and sturdy built and has short, smooth lying coat. The ears are and are slightly tilted forward at the top. The predominant color is black and white, with black dominating.

Nature and use

The McNab is a good trainee working dog and therefore ideal as a herding dog and is run as a hunting dog.

Sanitary
