Meade County (Kentucky)

Meade County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Brandenburg, which was named after Solomon Brandenburg, who donated the land to the city's founding available.

Geography

History

Meade County was formed on December 17, 1823 from parts of Breckinridge County and Hardin County. It was named after James Meade, who was killed in 1813 at the Battle of River Raisin.
