Meadow Lakes is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Matanuska- Susitna Borough in Alaska in the United States. The area lies between the Little Susitna River and the rail network of the Alaska Railroad near the cities of Wasilla and Houston and is accessible via the George Parks Highway.
History
Around 1906 (now Wasilla - Fishhook Road called ) built the Carle Wagon Road, which served as a thoroughfare to the gold mines of the Willow Creek Mining District. After the Second World War, the area was settled. The George Parks Highway was completed in 1971. Low housing costs, the rural lifestyle and work opportunities in Palmer, Wasilla and Anchorage led to a rapid population growth.

At the time of the census in 2000 ( U.S. Census 2000) had Meadow Lakes CDP 4819 inhabitants on a land area of 173.4 km ². The average age was 32.7 years ( national U.S. average: 35.3 years ). The per capita income ( per capita income engl. ) amounted to U.S. $ 17,295 ( U.S. National Average: U.S. $ 21,587 ). 17.1 % of residents were with their income below the poverty line ( national U.S. average: 12.4% ) .18,3 % of the inhabitants are of German descent.
