Mean High Water

The Mean High Water ( MHW ) is a measure of the water level in the tide. It refers to a long-term average of the height of the flood. In Germany, the values ​​are averaged over 20 years.

Shoreline

The Middle flood referred to in Germany on the North Sea coast, the official shoreline. In many other countries, the coastline is defined by the line of the Middle flood.

On the Baltic Sea, however, as in other waters without Tide, it is defined by the means of water.
