Medal "For the Defence of Leningrad"

The medal " For the Defense of Leningrad (Russian Медаль " За оборону Ленинграда ") was a Soviet award, which was awarded to the defenders of Leningrad during the siege of Leningrad by German and Finnish troops during the Second World War. The Foundation was carried out by Josef Stalin.

Stylish look and manner

The bronze medal shows on its obverse above the Alexander Column on which a Soviet star is seen. Under the column marched a number of people whose order viewed from the front begins with a Red Army soldier, closely followed by a Marine, a worker and a peasant woman, striding with attached bayonet westward. Enclosed is the presentation of the inscription: За оборону Ленинграда ( For the Defense of Leningrad ). The reverse shows the three-line inscription: За нашy / советскую / родину ( For our Soviet Motherland ). Above are the symbols hammer and sickle.

Was driven medal at the upper left side of the chest Beliehenen of an elongated pentagonal fabric-covered clasp ground color is light green with a vertical green center strip. The accompanying interim clasp is of the same nature.
