Medal "For the Defence of Odessa"

The medal " For the Defense of Odessa (Russian Медаль " За оборону Одессы ") was a Soviet award, which was awarded to the defenders of the city of Odessa in the wake of the Battle of Odessa during the Second World War. The Foundation was carried out by Josef Stalin.

Stylish look and manner

The bronze medal shows on its obverse center two storming westward Red Army soldiers with the weapon in his hand and attached bayonet, of which the front is a sailor. In the small inscription CCCP is to read. The symbolism is enclosed by the above semicircular inscription За оборону Одессы. ( For the defense of Odessa ) and two crossed below, also semi-circular laurel branches, which terminate at their upper ends with a Soviet star The reverse shows the three-line inscription: За нашy / советскую / родину ( For our Soviet Motherland ). Above are the symbols hammer and sickle.

Was driven medal at the upper left side of the chest Beliehenen of an elongated pentagonal fabric-covered clasp, whose color is light green. In the tape, a vertical ice-blue center stripe is centered woven. The accompanying interim clasp is of the same nature.
