Mede, Lombardy

Mede is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6919 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Pavia in Lombardy. The municipality is situated approximately 34 km west-southwest of Pavia and about 23 kilometers northeast of Alessandria.

History

As part of the feud over Lomello Mede was first mentioned in 1157. In 1928, the formerly independent municipality Goido is incorporated as a village after Mede.

Traffic

The railway line Pavia Torreberetti pervades the community. In Mede a train station located along this route.
