History

The Medebek was past the scene of various restoration attempts and so a 175,000 euro expensive project was adopted, among others, and performed in 2002. The Medebek is a major receiving water for St. Gertrude, the surface water from the built-up areas is derived in the forest where it is urgently needed. It is now far less polluted than it was several years ago and once again offers relatively good water quality and biodiversity.
