Medical Products Agency (Sweden)

Läkemedelsverket (short LV, English Medical Products Agency, short- MPA) is the licensing and regulatory body for pharmaceuticals in Sweden, based in Uppsala. The Medicines Agency is also responsible for the monitoring of cosmetics, hygiene products and medical devices. As a licensing and supervisory authority for narcotics regulates and monitors their handling and transport.

The Ministry of Social Affairs assigned Medicines Agency was established in 1990 and employs approximately 600 employees, primarily physicians and pharmacists.
