MEDLINE ( Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online) is a publicly available bibliographic database of the U.S. National Center for Biotechnology Information ( NCBI).
In her evidence the international literature are listed from all areas of medicine, including dentistry and veterinary medicine, psychology, and public health. These are based on approximately 21 million articles from about 4500 journals.
Currently the articles are summaries ( abstracts) offered in English in addition to bibliographic information on major part. Using PubMed can be made via the Internet searches of MEDLINE. Also MedPilot, the online-based search portal of the German National Library of Medicine, provides a Medline search.
About an API can be accessed directly on the data via some programs for literature management, in order to collect and further process for their own scientific work.
