Meeker County, Minnesota
The Meeker County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010, the County had 23,300 inhabitants and a population density of 14.8 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Litchfield.
Geography
The County is located just south of the geographical center of Minnesota. It has an area of 1671 square kilometers, of which 95 square kilometers are water surface.
In the north of the county is drained by the North Fork Crow River and to the south by South Fork Crow River, which unite in the west adjacent to the Wright County Crow River.

History
The Meeker County was formed on February 23, 1856 from parts of the nonexistent Davis County. It was named after Bradley B. Meeker, an associate judge of the Supreme Court of Minnesota.

According to the census in 2010 lived in Meeker County 23,300 people in 9400 households. The population density was 14.8 inhabitants per square kilometer. In the 9400 households lived statistically 2.44 per person.
The racial the population was composed of 98.3 percent white, 0.4 percent African American, 0.2 percent Native American, 0.3 percent Asian, 0.1 percent Polynesians as well as other ethnic groups; 0.6 percent were descended from two or more races. Regardless of ethnicity, 3.3 percent of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
25.0 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 58.1 percent were between 18 and 64 and 16.9 percent were 65 years or older. 49.2 percent of the population was female.
