Meg Ritchie

Meg Ritchie (actually Margaret Elizabeth Ritchie, married Stone, born July 6, 1952 in Kirkcaldy ) is a former British discus thrower and shot putter.

In the British Commonwealth Games in 1974 in Christchurch, she was starting for Scotland sixth in the discus throw.

In 1978 she was at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton fourth in discus throw and eighth in the shot put. At the European Athletics Championships in Prague, she came in the discus throw on the 13th Place.

At the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980, she was in the discus throw Ninth. In 1982, she won in this discipline at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane and was seventh in the shot put. Also at the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki, she had a double launch: In the discus throw, she was eighth in the shot put she was disqualified in the qualifier. At the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, she finished fifth in the discus throw.

Three times she was English champion (1975, 1977, 1981) and four times British Champion ( 1977-1980 ) in the discus throw. For the University of Arizona starting in 1982, she was the NCAA champion in the shot put and discus throw and 1983 NCAA indoor champion in the shot put.
