Meg Tilly

Meg Tilly ( born February 14, 1960 Long Beach, California, USA; actually Margaret E. Chan ) is an American actress, dancer and author. She is the sister of actress Jennifer Tilly.

Life

Meg Tilly was born in 1960 in Long Beach (California, USA) as the daughter of an American artist of Chinese origin, but grew up in British Columbia ( Canada). She learned to dance at the Connecticut Ballet Company and the Throne Dance Theatre.

In 1980 she had her breakthrough with Alan Parker's Fame - The path to glory. After an injury she had to give up dancing and focused from now on only on the spectacle. At first, she was seen in shows and movies and how Hill Street Blues, Psycho II and The Big Chill. In 1985, she landed a role in Agnes - Angel in the fire next to Jane Fonda and Anne Bancroft, for which she was awarded the Golden Globe and was nominated for an Oscar. Tilly was until 1989 married to film producer Tim Zinnemann, with whom she has two children. For a brief relationship with actor Colin Firth comes from another child, a son. From 1995 to 2002 she was married to the former president of Sony Pictures John Calley.

Others

In 1984, Tilly was considered for the role of Constanze Mozart in Milos Forman's eight -time Academy Award -winning film Amadeus. But one day before their shooting began she was injured while playing football so hard that she drew upon his leg a ligament, what zunichtemachte their involvement in the film.
