Megadiverse countries

The mega diversity countries (English Mega Diverse Countries) declared states harboring over 70% of people living on the land species a large proportion of the existing global biodiversity or biodiversity. Most of these countries are in the tropics. On 18 February 2002 met in Cancún representatives of twelve mega diversity countries. These signed the Declaration of Cancún ( engl. Like- Minded Mega Diverse Countries, LMMC ). The statement concluded by 2003 two more states.
