The Mehde - Aue is a left tributary of the River Oste in the district of Rotenburg ( Wümme) in Lower Saxony. It flows through the town of Zeven.

Course

The source area is located about 1 km east of Hesedorf ( Gyhum ), near the road to Abbendorf. Since the floodplain of the source of the river is Mehde, both referred to as Mehde floodplain. The Mehde - Aue is a total of 19.76 km long and covers a catchment area of ​​97.91 km ² in total. The Mehde floodplain has several tributaries, the Abbendorfer channel opens at Hesedorf to the waters from the bush Horst bei Gyhum. Next tributaries are the Osenhorster stream with the mouth between Gyhum and Wehldorf and Rhalandsbach that flow in Zeven. The Mehde floodplain has a straightened course to Zeven and is classified as non-natural. In Zeven it is overbuilt within the urban core, then flows through the park and forest. From Zeven the further course can be regarded as natural.

The Mehde floodplain flows 2 km north of Zeven in altitude is Offensen left side in the Oste.
