Mehdishahr

Sangsar (Persian مهدیشهر, also Sangesar or Sang -e Sar, as well Mehdishahr or Mahdishahr ) is a town in the same district in the Iranian province of Semnan.

Geography

Sangsar lies on the southern slopes of the Alborz Mountains, 20 km north of the provincial capital of Semnan. In the north, the district borders the province of Mazandaran.

Sangesar is dominated by the Alborz Mountains. The winters can be very cold and may cause heavy snowfall. In summer there is a rather mild climate in the region.

The district has an area of ​​about 1,100 km ².

History

The city is already in ancient heroic legends, such as the Shahnameh by the poet Firdausi, mentioned and praised.

Economy and infrastructure

The most important road connection of Semnan on Sangesar after Schahmirzād to Fooladmahale connecting these towns with the city of Sari.

The city has several universities.
