Mehlbach

Mehlbach is a municipality in the district of Kaiserslautern, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Otterbach.

Geographical location

Mehlbach located 12 km north of Kaiserslautern at the edge of the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest Nature Park.

History

1255, the village was first mentioned.

Religion

2012 were 53.3 percent of the population Protestant and 23.8 percent Catholic. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were. Catholics belong to the diocese of Speyer, the Evangelical Lutheran Church for Protestant Palatinate.

The blazon of the arms is: " Argent, a blue oblique left wave beams on either side accompanied by a two-bladed green oak branch with one green acorn ".

It was established in 1952 approved by the Mainz Ministry of Interior.

Traffic

  • The public transport system is integrated into the transport association Rhein- Neckar. The nearest train station is in Katzweiler on the railway line from Kaiserslautern to Lauterecken.
  • Southwest of the community runs the federal highway 270 which leads from Kaiserslautern Wolfenstein and Lauterecken to Idar -Oberstein. The community is through the A 6 (junction: Kaiserslautern-West ) connected to the motorway network.
