Mehlbek

Mehlbek is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. The municipality consists of the villages Hörsten, Mehlbek settlement, Muldsberg and stone village.

Geography and transport

Mehlbek is located about 8 km north of Itzehoe. The Federal Highway 23 runs through the area of ​​the municipality. Mühlenau ( Stegau ) and Pöschendorfer ditch flow through the community; in the district Muldsberg is the clay pit Muldsberg.

History

Count Johann Rantzau received flour Beck in 1538 as a gift from Christian III. In the 16th century the village Kaaks, and part of Hohenaspe and Huje belonged to the estate Mehlbek.
