Mehmet Ekici [ ekidʒɪ ] (born 25 March 1990 in Munich) is a German -Turkish football player. The son of Turkish immigrants played in the youth teams of SpVgg Unterhaching and FC Bayern Munich. In the Bundesliga, he went so far in the 1st FC Nuremberg and SV Werder Bremen. After he had gone through all German youth national teams from U - 17 to U -21, he decided ultimately to compete for the national team of Turkey, for whom he debuted in 2010.

FC Bayern Munich

He began with five years in the youth of the SpVgg Unterhaching and after one and a half years he moved to FC Bayern München already. During the winter break of the season 2009/10 he took part in the Dubai training camp of the First Team. On 1 February 2010, the FC Bayern announced that Ekici had signed a professional contract until 30 June 2011 and would train with the national league under coach Louis van Gaal. Mehmet Ekici has apart from Turkish and German nationality. With the German national team, he participated in the U-17 World Cup 2007 in South Korea. He came only in the last group match on 26 August 2007 on the applications, as the German selection 5-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago. Previously, he played on July 20 and 28, 2007 in Giessen or cheeks in the 1-3 defeat against the United States or in the 2-0 victory over Togo.
