Mehmet Ekici [ ekidʒɪ ] (born 25 March 1990 in Munich) is a German -Turkish football player. The son of Turkish immigrants played in the youth teams of SpVgg Unterhaching and FC Bayern Munich. In the Bundesliga, he went so far in the 1st FC Nuremberg and SV Werder Bremen. After he had gone through all German youth national teams from U - 17 to U -21, he decided ultimately to compete for the national team of Turkey, for whom he debuted in 2010.

FC Bayern Munich

He began with five years in the youth of the SpVgg Unterhaching and after one and a half years he moved to FC Bayern München already. As A Teenager He completed towards the end of the 2007/ 08 Regional nine games. His first game in the then third highest league for the second team, he played five days before his 18th birthday. In this newly created for the 2008/09 season 3 League Ekici came in 32 of 38 games for use and scoring six goals. Making its debut on Matchday 27 July 2008 in a 2-1 victory at home to 1.FC Union Berlin with the interim 2-0 in the 76th minute he scored his first goal; 1-0 by Thomas Müller in the 49th minute, he was preparing.

During the winter break of the season 2009/10 he took part in the Dubai training camp of the First Team. On 1 February 2010, the FC Bayern announced that Ekici had signed a professional contract until 30 June 2011 and would train with the national league under coach Louis van Gaal. Thus, a previously discussed change to the 1 FC Cologne smashed. However, he first played for the second team continued and completed in the second round a competitive match for the Bundesliga team.

1 FC Nuremberg

About a lending transaction changed Ekici from 2nd July 2010 for one season for 1.FC Nürnberg. Mehmet Ekici has apart from Turkish and German nationality. With the German national team, he participated in the U-17 World Cup 2007 in South Korea. He came only in the last group match on 26 August 2007 on the applications, as the German selection 5-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago. Previously, he played on July 20 and 28, 2007 in Giessen or cheeks in the 1-3 defeat against the United States or in the 2-0 victory over Togo.

For the German U-18 national team, he played a single game in which he scored two goals: on 25 September 2007 won the U-18 selection in Emmelshausen 3-1 against Rwanda.
