Mehmet Emin Karamehmet

Mehmet Emin Karamehmet ( born April 1, 1944 in Tarsus ) is a Turkish businessman.

Life

Karamehmet visited the Robert College in Istanbul and studied Economics at Dover College in Kent. After studying Karamehmet returned to his hometown of Tarsus. He founded with the help of his father, his first company. He now directs, founded in 1921 by Sadi Eliyeşil Çukurova Holding. According to the American Forbes Magazine Karamehmet one of the richest Turks. Karamehmet is married and has one child. He lives with his family in Istanbul.

In 2010 Karamehmet was sentenced to a long prison term and a heavy fine because of financial irregularities. The verdict was overturned by the Supreme Court and remanded to the court. Karamehmet received a travel ban.
