Mehmet Terzi

Mehmet Terzi ( born May 5, 1955 in Eskişehir ) is a Turkish former long-distance runner, who had his greatest success in the marathon.

In 1981, he won together with his fellow countryman Mehmet Yurdadön at the premiere of the 25 km from Berlin. In 1983 he was second in the Frankfurt Marathon behind compatriot Ahmet Altun. In a marathon, the 1984 Olympics he finished in 16th place. In 1985 he became Turkish champion as the winner of the Istanbul Marathon and put it with the current course record 2:12:50. As a sixth the London Marathon 1987, he presented with 2:10:25 on the current Turkish marathon record. In the same year he won the San Francisco Marathon. He also won the 1983 marathon the Mediterranean Games, 1983, 1984, 1986 and 1988, the marathon of the Balkan Games and ever once national champion in 5000 - (1980) and 10,000 -meter run (1991).

Today Mehmet Terzi is president of the Turkish Athletics Federation (Türkiye atletizm Federasyonu ).
