Mehna
Mehna is a municipality in the Thuringian district Altenburger Land. It is located about nine kilometers west of Altenburg and is the seat of the administrative community Altenburger Land.

Geography
Mehna located west of Altenburg in Altenburg - Zeitz - Lößhügelland, an offshoot of Leipzig lowlands to Schmölln and Dobitschen. Adjacent communities are Dobitschen, Göllnitz and Stark Mountain in the district Altenburger Land.
Community structure
Districts of Mehna are Rodameuschel Two and Chen.
History
In July 1172 the place was first mentioned. On 1 July 1950, the two places Rodameuschel and Chen have been incorporated. After the fall of an agricultural cooperative was founded in the town.

Since the local elections of 7 June 2009, the council is composed as follows:

Social institutions
The farmhouse with adjoining park is a children's home since July 3, 1949. Today, sponsored by the HKJ ( Special Education Children and Youth Services gGmbH ) Thuringia are children and young people looked after milieu- therapeutic.
