Meigs Township is one of fifteen townships of Adams County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in 2000 3753 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

Meigs Township is located in the northeast of the Adams County in southwestern Ohio, approximately 35 km in the south of the Ohio River, which forms the natural border with Kentucky, bordered clockwise to the townships Bratton Township, Franklin Township, Rarden Township and Brush Creek Township in Scioto County, Jefferson Township, Brush Creek Township, Tiffin Township, Oliver Township and Scott Township.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk (Secretary), who is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.
