Meiji Yasuda Life

Meiji Yasuda Seimei Hoken Sogo gaisha (Japanese明 治安 田 生命 保 険 相互 会 社, dt " Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance", engl. Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company) is a Japanese company based in Tokyo. The company is focused as insurance companies on life insurance, further also offers other types of insurance.

In January 1880 Zenjiro Yasuda founded the predecessor of the later Yasuda Seimei Hoken Sogo gaisha (安 田 生命 保 険 相互 会 社, engl. The Yasuda Mutual Life Insurance Company). In July 1881, the Meiji Seimei Hoken Kabushiki - gaisha (明治 生命 保 険 株式会社) by Taizo Abe, was a pupil of Fukuzawa Yukichi founded.

On June 30, 1947, the Yasuda Seimei Hoken Sogo gaisha was on 9 July, the Meiji Seimei Hoken Sogo gaisha (明治 生命 保 険 相互 会 社, Eng. Meiji Life Insurance Company ) was founded.

On January 1, 2004, both merged, resulting in the current companies emerged.

The Meiji Yasuda Seimei Life Insurance has signed a contract for a long-term strategic cooperation with the Hanoverian insurance group Talanx AG on November 4, 2010.
