Meikirch of North

Meikirch is a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

Meikirch lies on the southern slopes of the Frienisberg around 10 kilometers northwest of the city of Bern.

The municipality comprises the villages Meikirch, Ortschwaben and Wahlendorf as well as the hamlets Grächwil, Aetzikofen and white stone.

Neighboring municipalities are, from north starting: Schüpfen, Kirchlindachstrasse, Wohlen and Seedorf.

Policy

The voter shares of the parties at the national elections of 2011 were: SVP 24.6 %, SP 17.6 %, 16.5 % BDP, GPS 12.4 %, FDP 9.4 %, 6.8 % glp, EPP 5.2 %, CVP 2.3 %, EDU 1.8 %.
